Image Annotator (Offline)
The same Image Annotator as a downloadable offline app: a plain folder you open by double-clicking index.html — no Node, no npm, no dev environment, no internet connection needed at any point. Browse a folder of images or add them individually, draw bounding boxes, circles, ellipses, polygons, polylines, or points, assign classes, and export as YOLO, COCO, Pascal VOC, or VIA CSV straight to your Downloads folder. Ideal for a locked-down machine, a flight, or anywhere you'd rather not open a browser tab to a live site at all.
A single .zip — extract it anywhere, then double-click index.html to open it. No installer, no account, no internet connection needed after this download.
What's inside
- index.html — open this to run the app
- app.js & styles.css — the app itself, plain JavaScript, no build step
- assets/ — a vendored copy of JSZip (for multi-file exports), MIT licensed
- README.txt — full instructions
About this tool
This is the Image Annotator from tuliq.app, packaged as a fully offline app — a plain folder of index.html, app.js, styles.css, and an assets folder, with no build step and no server involved at all. Download it once, and it works forever with zero internet connection: open it by double-clicking index.html, browse a whole folder of images or add them individually, draw bounding boxes and other shapes, assign classes, and export in whichever format your training pipeline expects. It's built for the same real labeling workflow as the live browser version — number-key class hotkeys, arrow-key image navigation, click-drag resize and move — just without needing a live website or a dev environment to run it. Note that unlike the browser-hosted version, this offline edition doesn't autosave a session: export your work before closing the tab.
Supported formats
- YOLO — One .txt file per image plus a classes.txt — normalized 0–1 coordinates, bounding boxes only.
- COCO — A single combined .json covering every image — bounding boxes only.
- Pascal VOC — One .xml file per image — bounding boxes only.
- VIA CSV — A single combined .csv — the only export that preserves every shape (circle, ellipse, polygon, polyline, point) exactly as drawn, not just its bounding box.
What you can do
- A plain folder you download and open directly — no installer, no account
- No Node, no npm, no dev environment — double-click index.html and it opens
- Browse a whole folder of images at once, or add files one at a time
- Draw rectangles, circles, ellipses, polygons, polylines, and points
- Export as YOLO, COCO, Pascal VOC, or VIA CSV
- Zero internet connection needed — nothing here ever touches a network
How to use
Step 1
Download & unzip
Download the .zip below and extract it anywhere on your computer.
Step 2
Open index.html
Double-click it — it opens in your default browser, no setup needed.
Step 3
Annotate & export
Add images, draw your shapes, then export — files save to your Downloads folder.
Example
Download the .zip, extract it, and double-click index.html. Click "Add a folder" to load every image in a directory at once, add a class, draw your first box, and export — the download lands in your browser's normal Downloads folder exactly like any other file.
How your data is handled
This offline edition has no server component at all — not even a website. Every part of it (reading your images, drawing, and exporting) happens locally in the browser tab you opened index.html in. Nothing is ever uploaded, logged, or transmitted anywhere, at any point, whether or not your computer even has an internet connection.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an internet connection to use this?+
No — once you've downloaded and extracted the .zip, it works completely offline, forever. An internet connection is only needed to download it in the first place.
Do I need to install anything (Node, npm, a code editor)?+
No. It's a plain folder of HTML/CSS/JS files. Double-click index.html and it opens directly in your default browser — that's the entire setup.
Does my work autosave like the browser version does?+
No — this offline edition doesn't persist a session between visits. Export your annotations before closing the tab if you want to keep them; reopening index.html later starts fresh.
Which browsers does it work in?+
Any modern desktop browser — Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. "Add a folder" (bulk folder browsing) is supported in all three.
How is this different from the regular Image Annotator on tuliq.app?+
Same drawing tools and export formats — the difference is entirely in how you get it and run it. The web version needs a browser tab pointed at tuliq.app; this offline edition is a folder on your own computer with no site involved at all.
