PDF Merger
Combine multiple PDF files into one, preserving every page exactly — pages are copied at the object level, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images stay full quality. Reorder files before merging; the output follows that exact order. Runs entirely client-side using the pdf-lib library — nothing is uploaded.
About this tool
This tool combines multiple PDF files into one, preserving every page exactly as it was in the source file — pages are copied at the object level, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable, images stay full quality, and nothing is recompressed or altered. Two ways to control the order: "Swap whole PDFs" reorders entire files as a block, the fast option when you just need file A before file B. "Reorder individual pages" shows a thumbnail of every page from every file in one list, and lets you move any single page anywhere — including interleaving pages from different files, for example alternating a cover page from one file with content pages from another. It runs entirely client-side using pdf-lib and pdf.js — nothing you upload is ever sent anywhere.
What you can do
- Combine any number of PDFs into a single file
- Swap the order of whole files, or drop into a page-by-page view to reorder or interleave individual pages across files
- Download the merged PDF with one click
- Nothing is uploaded — merging happens locally in your browser
How to use
Step 1
Add your PDFs
Select two or more files — they can be added in any order.
Step 2
Arrange the order
Use the up/down arrows for a whole-file swap, or switch to "Reorder individual pages" to move any single page anywhere — even into the middle of another file.
Step 3
Merge and download
Every page is combined, in exactly the order shown, into a single downloadable PDF.
Example
Two files:
Input
cover-letter.pdf (1 page) resume.pdf (2 pages)
Output
merged.pdf (3 pages, in that order)
merge into a single 3-page PDF, with cover-letter.pdf's page first since it's listed first.
How your data is handled
This tool is labeled 🟢 Browser: your PDFs are combined directly in your browser using the pdf-lib library — nothing is uploaded to a server, and nothing about it is retained once you leave the page.
Frequently asked questions
Does merging reduce quality or recompress images?+
No — pages are copied at the PDF object level, not re-rendered as images. Text, fonts, and embedded images are preserved exactly as they were in the source files.
Can I merge more than 2 files at once?+
Yes — add as many as you need, then set the order with either the whole-file up/down arrows or the individual-page view before merging.
Can I interleave pages from different files instead of keeping them grouped?+
Yes — switch to "Reorder individual pages" to see a thumbnail of every page from every file in one list, and move any single page anywhere, including into the middle of another file's pages.
Why did it say a file couldn't be read?+
The file either isn't a valid PDF or is corrupted. This tool doesn't handle password-protected PDFs — remove the password with a dedicated tool first if the file is encrypted.
Is there a limit to how many files I can merge?+
No hard limit is enforced, though very large combined files will naturally take longer to process since everything happens in your browser's memory rather than on a server.
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?+
No — they're combined directly in your browser using the pdf-lib library. Nothing here ever leaves your device.
