PDF Signature Adder

Draw a signature with your mouse, type your name for instant cursive signature-style suggestions, or upload a PNG โ€” then drag it directly onto the live page preview to position it and drag its corner to resize, the same drag-to-place interaction as a design canvas rather than position sliders. The signature's aspect ratio is preserved when resized. Runs entirely client-side using pdf-lib and pdf.js โ€” nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

This tool places a signature image onto one page of a PDF, with three ways to get one: draw it directly with your mouse, type your name and instantly see it rendered in several real cursive/handwriting font styles to pick from, or upload your own PNG (ideally with a transparent background, so only the strokes themselves appear, not a white box around them). However you make it, placing it works the same way โ€” drag the signature directly on the live page preview to position it, and drag its corner handle to resize, exactly like moving a shape on a canvas, rather than fiddling with position sliders. The signature keeps its own aspect ratio when resized, so it's never stretched or squashed. It runs entirely client-side using pdf-lib and pdf.js โ€” nothing you upload is ever sent anywhere, and the typed signature styles are self-hosted fonts, never fetched from a third party at runtime.

What you can do

  • Draw a signature, type your name for instant cursive style suggestions, or upload an image
  • Drag the signature straight onto the page to position it, drag its corner to resize
  • Download the signed PDF with one click
  • Nothing is uploaded โ€” everything runs locally in your browser

How to use

Step 1

Draw, type, or upload

Draw with your mouse, type your name and pick from several signature-style fonts, or upload a PNG.

Step 2

Drag it into place

Drag the signature directly on the page preview to position it, and its corner handle to resize โ€” no sliders.

Step 3

Add and download

The signature is placed onto the page exactly as previewed.

Example

A signed agreement:

Action

Draw a signature, place it in the bottom-right of page 3, download

adds the signature directly onto page 3 at the chosen position โ€” every other page is untouched.

How your data is handled

This tool is labeled ๐ŸŸข Browser: your PDF and signature are combined directly in your browser using pdf-lib and pdf.js โ€” nothing is uploaded to a server, and nothing about it is retained once you leave the page.

Frequently asked questions

How does the "type your name" option work?+

Type your name once and it's instantly rendered in five different cursive and handwriting-style fonts โ€” pick whichever looks most like a real signature to you. Editing the name updates your chosen style live.

How do I position the signature โ€” is it still sliders?+

No โ€” drag the signature directly on the page preview to move it, and drag the small blue dot at its corner to resize it, the same drag-to-place interaction as a design canvas. It can't be dragged off the edge of the page.

Is a drawn signature here legally binding?+

This tool places an image onto a PDF page โ€” it doesn't add cryptographic signing, certificates, or any of the tamper-evidence features a legally-binding e-signature platform provides. Treat it as visually signing a document, not as a substitute for a proper e-signature service where that distinction matters.

Why upload a PNG specifically, and not JPG?+

PNG supports transparency, so a signature drawn on a white background (or exported from a signature app) can have its background removed, leaving only the ink strokes visible when placed on the page โ€” a JPG signature would carry an opaque white box around it.

Can I sign multiple pages?+

This tool places one signature on one page per pass โ€” repeat the process on the already-signed PDF for additional pages.

Does resizing distort the signature?+

No โ€” the signature's original aspect ratio is preserved when you adjust its size, so it's scaled proportionally rather than stretched.

Are my PDF and signature uploaded anywhere?+

No โ€” they're combined directly in your browser using pdf-lib and pdf.js. Nothing here ever leaves your device.
