QR Code Generator

Generate a QR code from 6 real content types — URL/text, Wi-Fi credentials (scan to join, no typing a password), a contact card (vCard), a pre-filled email or SMS, or a phone number. Adjustable error correction for when a logo will be overlaid. No expiry, no account, no redirect through a third-party shortener — the content is encoded directly. Download as PNG or SVG. Runs entirely client-side using the qrcode library — nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

This tool generates a QR code from six real content types, each encoded in the exact format QR scanners expect — not just a URL, but Wi-Fi credentials (scan to join a network without typing a password), a contact card (scan to save a person directly to contacts), an email or SMS pre-filled with a subject/body or message, and a phone number that dials directly. Error correction level controls how much of the code can be damaged, obscured, or overlaid with a logo and still scan correctly — higher levels tolerate more damage at the cost of a visually denser code. Unlike many free QR generators, there's no expiry, no account, and no tracking redirect — the code is generated directly from your content and works forever, since it's not secretly pointing through a URL-shortener service that could go down. It runs entirely client-side using the qrcode library — nothing you enter is ever sent anywhere.

What you can do

  • 6 content types: URL/text, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS, and contact card (vCard)
  • Adjustable error correction — higher levels stay scannable even with a logo overlaid
  • Download as PNG or SVG
  • Free, no expiry, no account — generated entirely in your browser

How to use

Step 1

Pick a type and fill in the details

A URL, Wi-Fi credentials, an email, a phone number, an SMS, or a contact card.

Step 2

It updates live

The QR code regenerates instantly as you type — no generate button to click.

Step 3

Download

PNG for most uses, or SVG for print at any size without pixelation.

Example

A Wi-Fi network:

Input

SSID: "Coffee Shop" · Password: "espresso123" · WPA

scanning the generated code joins the network directly — no typing the password on a phone keyboard.

How your data is handled

This tool is labeled 🟢 Browser: your QR code is generated directly in your browser using the qrcode library — nothing is uploaded to a server, and nothing about it is retained once you leave the page.

Frequently asked questions

Does this QR code expire?+

No — the content is encoded directly into the code itself, not through a redirect service, so it works for as long as the underlying content (a URL, a Wi-Fi network) stays valid. Many free QR generators actually route through their own shortener and can stop working if that service shuts down or the free tier expires; this one doesn't.

What error correction level should I use?+

Medium (M) is a solid default for most uses. Choose High (H) if you plan to overlay a logo on top of the code afterward — it tolerates roughly 30% damage/obstruction and still scans correctly, versus 7% for Low.

How does the Wi-Fi QR code work?+

It encodes your network name and password in the format phone cameras recognize automatically — scanning it offers to join the network directly, with no manual password typing.

What does the vCard (contact) option do?+

It encodes a contact card in the standard vCard format — scanning it on a phone offers to save that person directly to contacts, rather than just showing plain text.

Is my content uploaded anywhere?+

No — the QR code is generated directly in your browser using the qrcode library. Nothing here ever leaves your device.
